I’m think the no shower thing is just that some small % of people are blessed with like 7 different things that need to come together to not need/want to shower and fr good for them but some of them incorrectly infer that it could relatively easily be universal
Quoting Aella (@Aella_Girl): As a big no-showerer, my tips:
1. Most unhygienic stinky people actually have stinky clothes. Just make sure you change often
2. Yes there is a break in period while your skin adjusts.
3. Making sure no crevices stay damp is important to prevent smell. Let your armpits air out, don't wear a hat if your scalp sweats, etc.
4. Bidets. Bidet hard and often.
5. Mild abrasion to your skin with water is still good imo for loosening up dead skin and deep dirt.
6. Stress and diet does affect your smell. I smell noticeably worse when I'm stressed out.
7. Oil scraping is labor intensive but it's the best and cleanest my skin has ever felt in my life
8. It's not perfect. There's a little more baseline body smell than most (but still not out of distribution for normal shower-ers), but I've grown to like it and find it quite informative. It's weird now when I'm close to a person and can't smell their natural scent, it's just been replaced with a pleasant neutral soap scent. Feels uncanny and inhuman.

'health niche' is putting Magnesium Chloride on your balls.to start off, getting Magnesium into your system is already one of the cornerstones of health, this is because Magnesium plays a role in thousands of enzymatic reactions and is needed to carry ATP.
1st reason:
when you supplement Magnesium, topical is an incredibly great way to do it, since absorption is much higher than when it needs to pass through the gut (besides that; oral Magnesium Chloride will give you diarrhea)2nd reason:
of all the areas of skin that exist on your body, your ballsack absorbs things the best by far (your testicles absorb almost 12 times better than your forearms do) so topical application on your balls is only something logical.3rd reason:
since you are applying it on your balls, you are directly enhancing testosterone production because you are providing the raw building block which the Leydig cells need to convert the prohormones (like DHEA and pregnenolone) into testosteroneof almost all the people that i've recommended to use magnesium, have noticed that their testicles became bigger and more filled with blood after topical application.
so how do you do it?
>mix 2/7th of magnesium chloride flakes with 5/7th water in a spray bottle
>shake very well
>spray on skin area and rub it oneeasy and incredibly cheap (u can get Magnesium Chloride for like 5-10 bucks per kilo)

Quoting Smartphones sans Google (GAFAM) (@Sans_Google): First known US case: American charged for using a “duress” password
Samuel Tunick, an Atlanta resident, is being prosecuted for allegedly giving border agents a passcode that wiped his phone.
The feature comes from GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused Android OS. Entering the duress code triggers a full factory reset.
This is believed to be the first time federal prosecutors have brought such charges.
The incident happened in January 2025 at Atlanta airport. Agents demanded access to his phone without a warrant, saying he hadn’t yet officially entered the US. When they entered the code, the phone wiped itself.
Tunick has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers argue the seizure was unlawful and that agents were investigating his activism against “Cop City.”
The case raises big questions about digital rights at the US border.

The most heinous part of factory farming is how stupidly cheap it is to just not do the worst practices
You’d be paying maybe an 1-2 cents per egg if cages were illegal (IIRC) and approximately nothing for pork from a pig given pain relief during surgery
Quoting Lewis Bollard (@Lewis_Bollard): Almost all male piglets on US factory farms are castrated with a non-sterile knife or scalpel.
The industry calls it 'surgical castration.' But there's no vet, anesthetic, or pain relief involved.
Anesthesia would cost about five cents per piglet. Pain relief would cost one cent.
France and Germany already require anesthesia. Brazil's pork industry is phasing out castration altogether.
The US pork industry doesn't think it's worth the cost.

Deeply evil shit
Quoting Lewis Bollard (@Lewis_Bollard): This is shocking: the House Rules Committee just blocked a vote on stripping the Save Our Bacon Act from the farm bill.
The SOB Act, buried deep in the farm bill, would wipe out state bans on pork from crated pigs, condemning millions to a lifetime in gestation crates.
We were getting very close to having the votes to pass Rep. Luna’s bipartisan amendment to strip the SOB Act from the bill on the floor of the House.
Then pork industry lobbyists got to work. Behind closed doors, they got Rules Committee leadership to stop a vote entirely and protect the SOB Act from the scrutiny it can’t survive.
The only option now is to kill the whole rotten farm bill. Please call your representatives at (202) 225-3121 and tell them to vote NO.

Quoting Balaji (@balajis): First and foremost, we must reject the premise.
This person doesn't actually care about starving brown people. Because India didn't get on its feet through "aid", but through trade. And El Salvador didn't recover through aid either, but by jailing drug dealers.
That means the actual formula for prosperity looks something like (a) strong leader plus (b) law and order plus (c) capitalism. It looks like Lee Kuan Yew, Nayib Bukele, or Prime Minister Modi.
It does not look like William MacAskill.

We look forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership. We rely on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.
We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations. Ukraine, as one of Europe's strongest military powers, is committed to ensuring long-term peace and security in Europe and the Transatlantic community with the support of our allies.
I am looking forward to personally congratulating President Trump and discussing ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States.

"End of the world" is a funny term because it's not obvious what it's supposed to mean even when used ~literally:
- society collapses
- no human remains alive
- the earth doesn't support animal life
- the earth doesn't support any life
- the earth is physically destroyed
- the universe no longer supports life
- the universe no longer exists in some sense (closest to literal)

I was told and largely believed that being an Eagle Scout would be like a grand marker of status in the adult world
I have never gotten even the slightest sense that anyone gives a shit lmao (I don’t blame them, it truly is mostly paperwork)
Quoting agartha christie (@samoyed_online): Whenever I tell someone I’m an eagle scout they go “oh that makes sense”. I was hoping this was because of my conscientious nature but I’ve come to accept that it’s the autism

- 5 year age differenceIt sucks that a lot of the legacy of MeToo has been to give women the power to destroy the lives of men for personal slights and drama

I’m pro-Aella but also anti-anti-anti-Aella (sorta)
I don’t think yelling “WOW SHE REALLY BULLDOZED THAT ABSOLUTE DUMBASS LOSER” is a good way to foster scout mindset, memetically
Quoting Aella (@Aella_Girl): Because they see 'not knowing what you're talking about' as losing. This type of debate strategy wants to have the feeling of 'winning' at all costs, which leaves no room for backing down even when you've made an error.
Learning to lose is a difficult and important skill!

Nobody has any idea if Shakespeare is any good bc his plays are basically gibberish and should be translated into modern English as John McWhorter convincingly argues in episode 142 of the 80000 Hours Podcast with Rob Wiblin about the world’s most pressing problems

It really needs to be common knowledge that there is not a single ethical system that returns intuitive results
So merely pointing out an unintuitive implication is ~0 evidence - you have to explain why it’s especially egregious compared to all the others!

Is this real
Who in the world is asking for cursive
Is there a fancy pen lobby big enough to lobby at the state level
Quoting Governor Josh Shapiro (@GovernorShapiro): When it comes to letting our kids be kids, let’s get back to the basics — and that starts in our schools.
That’s why I signed a bipartisan bill that will ensure cursive handwriting — a fundamental skill — is taught in all Pennsylvania public schools.
It’s also why I’ve called on the state legislature to pass legislation requiring schools to implement a bell-to-bell ban on cell phones so that our kids can spend more time interacting face-to-face, instead of on their phones.
We have to look out for our kids’ future — let’s get it done.
